John married Walentyna "Valeria" RACZKIEWICA in Poland. They had two sons, Ignatius (1887) and John, Jr. (1890) before moving to the United States in 1891. In Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, the family grew, with the births of Mary (1891), Bessie (1895), Walter (1901), and Veronica (1904).
