Robert Melton DAVIS was born 08 Sep 1822 in Georgia.
He married Missouria Ann ADAMS. They may have had seven children: John W. (1846), Zachariah T. (1848), Fannie B. (1848), Alfred (1851), Joseph Warren (1853), Camilla Ophelia (1855), and Benjamin Newton (1861).
Robert M. Davis purchased land in Macon County, Alabama, in 1860.
He served as a Private in Company G, 54th Regiment of the Alabama Volunteers. Robert died 02 Oct 1864 "from disease contracted in the service of the Confederate States, and his death occurred during the late war."
