Marcin "Martin" PIETRZAK was born 25 Oct 1872 in Poland (near Poznań Voivodeship or Krzykosy, Mazowieckie or Szroda) to Jakub and "Sophie" PIETRZAK. (Maybe Sophie's formal first name was Janina or Sabina.)
Martin came to the United States in 1890. He was probably Naturalized in 1900, but documents haven't turned up yet.
Marcin married Balbina STASZAK 10 July 1900 in Cook County, Illinois. The couple had eight children: Chester (1901-1937), twins Anton "Tony" (1904-1967) & Antoinette (1904-1990), Adam (1906-1980), Ignatius "Iggy" (1909-1977), Harriet "Hattie" (1911-1986), Heromine "Harry" (1914-1981), and Vincent "Gabby" (1917-1952).

"My grandparents, Balbina & Martin Pietrzak, are on the far right of the cover photo of the book Cicero Revisited by Douglas Deuchler. That is my Uncle Iggy in my grandmother's arms, and he was born in 1909 so that is likely the year of this shot. The book is a photo history of Cicero (formed as a town in 1857) from 1880 to about 2002. There are a lot of photos that bring back memories for me and my days in Cicero (‘40’s & ‘50s)….really, most of my life until college." [*CMP]
