Dolores
Marie LANGNER was born 23 Mar 1923, in Chicago, Cook County,
Illinois, a daughter of Frank and Genevieve
T. (OLSZEWSKI) LANGNER.
Attended Good Shepard grade school, Our Lady of Good Counsel high school, and Convent in Chicago.

SMOLUCHA were married on 07 May 1950, in Chicago, Cook County. They had
two children:
Dolores worked as an Inspector and Microscopic Analyzer at Western Electric for over 15 years.
“Dolores SMOLUCHA and I started working at Western Electric on the same day, May 26th 1941. (I didn’t know Herb at the time.) We worked together for a while then one of us was transfered to another department. We would see each other from time to time.” [*JFL]
“I worked on small projects all year to donate to the Parish Youth organization to be distributed to a nursing home at Christmas. Mom was in a nursing home for ten years so we know there are some people who put one of their family in and never take them home or even go to see them. There are also those who have no one. So what better way to spend my leisure time and a few pennies to make someone happy and also letting the young people get to learn about the elderly.” [*DLS]
“I was operated on Feb 20th [1991]. I went in for severe backache. They said it was a hernia. ... They found a calcium deposit which was in my gallbladder. ... The next day I found out they also took out my appendix. ... I also had a touch of pneumonia, but with medication and therapy, I came through.” [*DLS]
"The loss of her husband and younger son so close together [2002] was very hard on Dolores. It was difficult for Larry, Francine, and Nathan (age 6 at the time) who took care of everyone, including Grandma (Dolores)." [*FZS]
"In 2004, Dolores bought a condo in Darien next door to her sister, Jeanette, and near Larry, Francine, and Nathan. She sold the bungalow near Midway Airport that she and Wally had bought back in 1958." [*FZS]
While recovering from throat surgery, Dolores LANGNER SMOLUCHA died from a heart attack 12 Jun 2011 in Darien, Du Page County, Illinois.
