Charles KNEBEL was born 26 Jan 1877, in Poland. He was one of 10 children born to Albert and Roze (SAMOTZKA) KNEBEL. He came with his parents to the United States in 1882. Charley's siblings, Helen (1885), Katie (1886), John (1889), and Annie (1892) were born in Illinois. He was Naturalized in 1900.
Agnes LASZEWSKI, daughter of Stanley and Antoinette (GARDNER) LASZEWSKI, and Charles KNEBEL were married 07 Jun 1902, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Charley was 25 years old, and Agnes was 19 years old. While living in Chicago, they had at least nine children: John H. (1903-1972), Alex (1906-1969), Clara (1908-1979), Irene (1911), Charles, Jr. (1914-1984), Karol (1915-1937), Edward (1916-1934), and twins - Fredrick John (1918-1969) and Chester R. (1918-1985).
Charley earned a living as a "helper boilers" in 1900, a driver in 1910, a laborer in the stockyards in 1920, and a laborer at a fur and wool preparatory in 1930. Census records from 1920 and 1930 show the family lived at 3235 S. Racine Avenue, Chicago.
Charles KNEBEL died 08 Apr 1937, in Norwood Park, Cook County, Illinois, at age 60. He was buried in the Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Cook County, Illinois.
