John H. PIASECKI, Jr. married Genevieve Hedwig PUKSZTA 02 Nov 1941. They had two sons, John Paul and Thomas Allen (1949).

("My maternal grandparents were John and Lottie PUKSZTA. John died in 1952 and Lottie in 1967 both in Denver. Lottie lived with us at 1330 Locust St. Her maiden name was MAKOWSKI. My Mom told me her dad was a bootlegger in prohibition and was something of a dreamer and wanderer much to the dismay of his wife Lottie."  [*TAP])

"Uncle Jack must have made some good investments. My impression was that they had a real good living. They had a cabin up in the mountains. Auntie Jean still has it and still goes there. I remember visiting ther once and it had an outhouse. I thought that was really neat."  [*MPQ]

"I have a picture of Uncle Jack smoking a pipe and the smoke was curling up around his head."  [*MPQ]

"He had a stern voice but was really gentle except he would give such big hugs that it would take your breath away. When Dawn was about seven or eight, she and I decided to go to Chicago on a Trailways bus. We left out of Oakland, California, and took a chess board because she had just learned how to play chess. On our way to Chicago, we stopped in Colorado, and it was the first time Uncle Jack got to met Dawn. She took to him right away, and he gave her one of those big hugs. That may have been the only time she saw him when he was still healthy and strong."  [*MPQ]

"My Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 1980, and my Mom took care of him at home in Denver until 1987 when he went to live in a home. Mom would go see him every day and bring her dog 'Precious' along. She would put the dog on a tray attached to the wheelchair my Dad needed and go for long walks. It was sweet."  [*TAP]

"Aunt Jean took good care of Uncle Jack all those years that he had Alzheimer’s. She kept him home."  [*MPQ]

John H. PIASECKI died 09 Mar 1989, in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. He was buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery.

"Herb an I went to John Piasecki’s funeral in March of 1989. John Paul, Beth, Kate, and Jake were there at the time. John Paul sent Jake around to see if he would go to college someplace in Denver. That was the last time we really saw them. Also, Tom and Annie were there too, from Washington."  [*JFL]
