Giovanni Antonio LAVIGNA was born 27 Jan 1879 in Italy. He was in a seminary in Italy. He arrived in the United States 09 Dec 1897.

LAVIGNA married
Maryanna (LASZEWSKI) DOLECKI 24 Jun 1915, in
Chicago. They were said to have had many babies, but none survived
childhood. Only two records were found; one unnamed daughter was born and
died 13 Nov 1917; and a son, William John LAVIGNA was born 07 Jan 1921, died
15 Jan 1921, and buried in St. Adelbert's Cemetery.
He
was Naturalized 16 Mar 1916 in Chicago, while living at 3236 S. 49th Avenue,
Cicero, Illinois. The witnesses were Martin LASZCZEWSKI [his brother-in-law and neighbor in 1930] at 5023 W. 31st Street,
Cicero, and Marie ANGELUCCI at 4824 W. 20th Street, Cicero, Illinois.
In
Sep 1918, he lived at 3108 S 48th Court, Cicero. John
worked as a section foreman for the Chicago & Illinois Western Railroad.
John LAVIGNA died in 24 May 1924, in Cicero, Cook County, Illinois. Records say his father's name was Dan LAVIGNA, and his wife's name was Maria. The John W. Raleigh Funeral Home arranged burial in St. Adelbert's Cemetery.
