Martin LASZEWSKI

Martin LASZEWSKI was born Sep 1883, in Poland, a son of Stanley and Antonia (GARDNER) LASZEWSKI. He immigrated to the United States as a child with his parents in 1889.

Martin LAZEZENSKI and Franciszka LEONARCZYK were married 18 Jun 1907, in Cook County, Illinois. Francis was born 03 Mar 1887, in Poland, a daughter of Thomas LEONARCZYK.

The 1910 census record shows Martin LASZCZCWSKI (he age 28, wife age 17) and his family were living with his parents. Martin was a bench worker for an Electric works. They were said to be married 6 years with 4 children: Wladislava (1905), Francis (1907), Vadav (1908), and Cecilia (1909).

The 1917 World War I Draft Registration Card for Martin A. LASCZEWSKI shows an alternative birth date of 01 Nov 1884. He lived at 3204 S. 49th Avenue, Cicero, with his wife, Francis. He was a packer at Petterson Sargent Company. His signature was spelled Martin A. LASZEWSKI. He was described as being medium height with blond hair and blue eyes.

The 1920 census record for Martin LASZEWSKI, taken at 3204 S. 49th Avenue, Cicero, listed birth in Poland in 1885  (age 35), and immigration year 1890, occupation shipping clerk. His wife, Francis, was age 33, born 1887 in Poland, and immigrated in 1890. Their four daughters and one son were born in Illinois: Lottie (1909), Francis (1910), Jennie (1911), Mary (1915), and Chester (1918).

The Archdiocese of Chicago, Cemetery Records, 1864-1989, have a burial record for Martin LASZCZEWSKI or LESZCZEWSKI, who died 05 Jan 1930 and was buried 08 Jan 1903 in the Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Cook County, Illinois.
