Frank DOLECKI

Abt. 1869 - 10 May 1910

Franciszek 'Frank' DOLECKI was born about 1869, in Poland.

He came to the United States in 1887, and was Naturalized. [A copy of his naturalization papers would be very helpful.]

"Your father did have a sister living at Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, about two miles away from our farm when we lived in Shickshinny. I really don't know how to spell her marriage name, but it was pronounced 'near-chin-ske'. I know they had one daughter, who passed away not long after she got married, and that's at least fifty years ago [during the 1920s]. I don't know when your father's sister and her husband passed away as I moved from Pennsylvania to New Jersey in January 1936. They passed away after I moved to New Jersey." [*HD] Perhaps her last name was spelled Nircienszy, Nirozinszi, Nirczynszi, Narczewski, or Niarczewski.

On 17 Feb 1897, Franciszek DOLECKI, age 27, married Maryanna LASZCZEWSKA, age 18, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Their four children who survived to adulthood were Mae (1898), Bessie (1900), Lottie (1902), and Aloysius (1909).

Their family of six lived at 3245 48th Court in Cicero, Cook County, Illinois, when the 1910 Census was taken.

"Your father spelled his name as 'Dolecki'. Well, that's the way it is spelled in Polish. When my father was getting his U.S. citizen papers, he had changed the spelling to "Doletski" as the name is pronounced as 'doe-let-ski' and not as 'do-lec-ki'." [*HMD]

Frank DOLECKI died on 10 May 1910 at age 41. Family members agree that Frank worked for a railroad at the time of his death. He was buried out of St. Mary of Czestochowa, 3010 S. 48th Court, Cicero, Illinois 60804, on 13 May 1910 in Row WZ, Number 308, at St. Adalbert Cemetery, 6800 Milwaukee Ave., Niles, Illinois 60648.
